Next Bitcoin Cash Halving
The number of coins mined will decrease from 3.125 to 1.5625 BCH.
The goal of the BCH halving is to control inflation, create scarcity, and, if demand is stable or growing, increase the price.
Economically, halving reduces inflation by limiting the emission, which theoretically affects the price of BCH. However, the effect depends on demand, miner activity, market conditions, and competition with other assets.
BCH inherited the halving mechanism from Bitcoin, as it was created as a result of a fork in August 2017. Halving occurs every 210,000 blocks (~4 years), cutting the reward to miners in half.
The first BCH halving was in April 2020 (12.5 → 6.25 BCH), the next one is in 2024 (3.125 BCH), then in 2027~2028 (1.5625 BCH). It is important to monitor the current blockchain data, as small deviations in dates are possible due to changes in the mining speed.
