Bitmain Antminer S21 Review. Hashrate and consumption
This ASIC mines the following coins:
In September 2023, Bitmain announced at once 2 new Asics under the Sha-256 (Bitcoin) algorithm:
- Antminer S21 Hyd -the most powerful Asic at the moment
- And Antminer S21, which is further discussed in this article.
This Asic has a hash rate of 200 Th/s! And the efficiency is 17.5 J/TH.
Interesting fact. Antminer S21 Hyd is currently the most powerful Asic in the world (after it comes: WhatsMiner M53S ++ from MicroBT. Its hashrate is 320 TH/s and its efficiency is 22 J/TH). At the same time, Antminer S21 is weaker than the same MicroBT - WhatsMiner M56S++, whose hashrate is 230 Th/s!
Pre-order of this model is available now, but delivery will not begin until the first quarter of 2024!
Bitmain announced this Asic now for a reason! In 2024 (April 21) we are expecting another Bitcoin halving (halving the reward for mining). This will make the old Asics less efficient, so there will be quite a big demand for new hardware!
Which Asic is better to buy: Bitmain S21 or S21 Hyd?
If you enter mining not on your last money and not on credit and have a rather large budget, then of course it is better to buy at once a more powerful version of Asic - S21 Hyd.
In fact, mining is a race of power. The more powerful your Asic, the more competitive you are, and therefore the longer your equipment will bring you profit!
Which Asic is better to buy: Bitmain S21 or WhatsMiner M56S++?
Of course, WhatsMiner M56S++ is not much more powerful than S21 - by 30 Th/s! However, if M56S++ will be noticeably more expensive for you, it is better to buy an Asic on a budget.
Yes, 30 TH/s is not low, however these Asics plus minus are the same. S21 has 17.5 J/TH and M56S++ has 22 J/TH.
